Start a club with Good Post Co

You make the mail. We run the business side of your club: taking payment from your subscribers, sales tax from start to finish, receipts, refunds, and paying you after each mailing goes out. We are the seller on every membership, so you never register for sales tax or file a return for it. We take 10% of each payment, before sales tax, and pay the card fees out of it. The one cost passed on, at what Stripe charges us, is the fee when a subscriber disputes a charge.

Already have a website for your club? Keep it. Your subscribers join and pay through us, and the rest of your site stays yours. No website? We host a page for your club.

Questions first? Read what creators usually ask, or email support@goodpostco.com, and a person will answer. We reply within 2 business days. If it’s urgent, start your subject with “Urgent” and we’ll get to it sooner.

Apply for your club

This takes about five minutes. Your answers set your club up, so there’s no back and forth by email. Not sure about something? Give us your best guess. You can change any of it before your club opens.

What happens next

  1. We read your application, usually within two working days.
  2. Once it’s approved, we set up your club from your answers and email you a link to your studio.
  3. In your studio, a short checklist walks you through the rest: the creator agreement, connecting your bank through Stripe, and your club’s page.
  4. When everything is ticked, press “Ask us to open”. We open your club, usually the same day, and you can start sharing it.

Every question needs an answer unless it says optional.

About you

We’ll write to this address, and it’s how you’ll sign in to your studio.

Your club

It becomes your club’s web address, like your-club.goodpostco.com. You can change it before you open.

Do you have a website for your club?

Only if you said yes. For example: yourclub.com

What do you plan to mail?Tick everything that applies.

One line is plenty.

Subscribers see this next to your price. For example: “A handwritten letter, a small print and a sticker, every month.” Up to 160 characters.

About how many subscribers do you expect in the first three months?

When you mail

Pick a day from the 1st to the 28th, so it exists every month. Most mail clubs pick a day mid-month.

Anyone who joins after this day gets their first envelope the month after. Give yourself a few days to write and pack. A day after your posting day means the month before (join by the 20th for the 1st).

Plan on two or three weeks to get ready after you’re approved.

Prices

Between $5 and $50. Sales tax is added on top where it applies, and we take 10% of the price. Most mail clubs charge $10 to $15.

Offer a year paid up front?

Only if you said yes. Many mail clubs give 12 months for the price of 10 or 11.

Offer gift memberships?A gift is paid once, at your monthly price times the months, and it doesn’t renew. You post to the person it’s for.

More than one tier? (optional)Many mail clubs sell a basic and a deluxe envelope. Name your first tier, the one priced above, then add up to two more. The yearly price and gifts are for your first tier; if you want them on other tiers too, say so under “Anything else”.

For example: Letter. Leave it blank if you only have one.

Tier 2

Tier 3

Will you email your members updates? We’ll send them for you, from your club’s name, and your club page will say what members get. People can stop them any time.

Good for a waitlist, or for telling people when your club opens.

How many members can you take? You can change this any time in your studio. When every spot is taken, your page says the club is full and stops taking sign-ups by itself.

When a spot opens, email

Stripe, which pays you, checks this when you connect your bank. Some things can’t go in the mail. See what we can’t sell.
