Acceptable Use
Version 2026-10-01. Effective 1 October 2026.
These are the rules about what may be sent through a Good Post Co club, what may be said about a club, and how people treat each other. They are part of the Creator Agreement, and they apply to everyone: the creator, anybody helping them, and subscribers.
The short version: send the kind of thing the post office is happy to carry, describe it honestly, and be decent to people.
What may not go in the envelope
Nothing on this list, ever. Most of it is what the United States Postal Service will not carry; the rest is ours.
Dangerous things
- Flammable liquids, aerosols, lighters, matches, compressed gas.
- Explosives, fireworks, ammunition, primers.
- Corrosives, poisons, pesticides, toxic or infectious substances.
- Batteries sent loose, and anything that can catch fire in a mail sack.
Living things and things that spoil
- Live animals or insects of any kind.
- Plants, bulbs or seeds where sending them is restricted.
- Perishable food. Sealed, shelf-stable, properly labelled food made or bought somewhere you are allowed to sell it is fine; anything that needs a fridge, or that arrives a different shape than it left, is not.
Money and things that stand in for it
- Cash, coins, cheques, money orders, gift cards with a balance on them.
- Lottery tickets, raffle entries, anything that is a game of chance.
- Chain letters, pyramid schemes, and "send this to five friends".
Restricted and age-gated goods
- Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, nicotine in any form.
- Cannabis, CBD, kratom, controlled substances, and anything sold as a legal alternative to one.
- Drug paraphernalia.
- Firearms, firearm parts, weapons, knives sold as weapons.
- Prescription medicines, supplements sold with a health claim, medical devices.
Sexual content
- Sexually explicit material of any kind. Mail arrives at a household, often opened by whoever is nearest the door, and there is no way to check who is standing there. Clubs that would need an age check are not for this platform.
- Anything sexualising a child, ever, anywhere, in any form. This one is reported, not discussed.
Other people's work, and other people's things
- Counterfeit goods, bootlegs, or anything infringing somebody's copyright or trade mark.
- Stolen goods.
- Anything you do not have the right to send.
And the catch-all
- Anything illegal to make, own, sell or send, wherever it is going.
- Anything the Postal Service or a carrier will not accept. If USPS would refuse to carry it, we will not sell it.
If you are not sure, ask before you print a thousand of them: support@goodpostco.com.
Who may not be a subscriber
Nobody under 13. A club bought for a child is bought and run by an adult, who is the customer and the person we deal with. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13, and a membership we learn belongs to one is closed and refunded.
Do not aim a club at children under 13, do not ask children to sign up themselves, and do not ask a subscriber for their date of birth — we do not collect it and neither should you.
Describing your club honestly
What you say your club sends is what your club sends.
- No invented scarcity: no "two left" when there are two hundred, no countdown that resets.
- No invented reviews, testimonials, or subscriber numbers.
- No promising something you cannot make. If you say it is hand-lettered, it is hand-lettered.
- No claims about health, money, or results — not on the page, not in the envelope.
- No suggesting Good Post Co wrote, made, checked or endorses what you send. We run the business side. The mail is yours.
- If what your club sends changes, change the page before the next person joins, not after.
How people treat each other
- No harassment, threats, or abuse — creator to subscriber, subscriber to creator, or anyone to us.
- No hate speech: attacking people for who they are is not a style choice.
- No publishing somebody's private information, and never a subscriber's address, to anyone, for any reason.
- No pretending to be somebody else: another creator, a brand, a public figure, or Good Post Co.
- No contacting a subscriber about anything other than the club they joined, unless they asked you to.
A subscriber who is abusive to a creator can have their membership ended, and we will refund what has not been mailed. Being a customer does not come with the right to be cruel to somebody at their kitchen table.
Telling us about a problem
Email support@goodpostco.com. Say what it is, which club, and where you saw it. If you are reporting something you believe is yours — your words, your art, your photograph — tell us what it is, where it appears, and how to reach you, and say that you believe you hold the rights.
We read every report. We do not promise to agree with every report.
What we do about it
Depending on what it is, we may:
- ask you to change or remove something;
- take a page, an image or a description down while we look at it;
- hold a mailing before it goes out;
- suspend the club, which stops billing and stops new subscribers; or
- close the club.
We will tell you what we did and why, in writing, and you can reply — and if we got it wrong, we will put it back and say so.
Anything dangerous, illegal or involving a child happens immediately and without notice, and is reported to the authorities where the law requires it.
If we suspend or close a club, its subscribers are refunded for whatever they paid for and did not receive, and we recover that from the creator, exactly as the Creator Agreement describes. Your subscriber list stays available to export the whole time.
When these rules change
This list grows, because somebody eventually tries something nobody thought of. We will give 30 days' notice by email before a new rule applies to an existing club — unless it is about something illegal or dangerous, which takes effect the moment we publish it.
