Gift Subscription Terms
Version 2026-10-01. Effective 1 October 2026.
A gift membership is one person buying a club for somebody else. These terms cover that. Everything in the Terms of Sale, the Cancellation & Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy applies as well.
Who the customer is
The person who pays. That is who we deal with, the whole way through.
The buyer gets the receipt, can change the address, can cancel, and is who a refund goes back to. The person receiving the gift gets the mail. They do not get an account, they are not charged anything, and they cannot cancel or change the membership — because somebody who never agreed to anything should not be able to end something somebody else paid for.
What a gift costs, and whether it renews
A gift is paid for up front, once, for a set number of months. It does not renew. When the last month has been mailed, it stops, and nothing is charged again.
We will email the buyer in the month before the last letter goes, so they can start it again if they want to. That email is a reminder, not a renewal: nothing happens unless the buyer goes and buys again. (A one-month gift is over almost as soon as it starts, so it does not get one.)
Only a paid-up-front membership can be a gift. A monthly or yearly membership, which renews until somebody cancels it, cannot be bought for somebody else.
We do not sell gift cards, gift codes or vouchers. A gift is a membership in one particular club, starting in a particular month.
When it starts
The buyer can pick a start month at checkout — useful if it is a present for a birthday in March and you are buying it in January.
If no start month is chosen, it starts with the club's next mailing. Whether that is this month or next depends on the club's cutoff day, exactly as it does for anybody else joining: on or before the cutoff and it makes this month's batch, after it and it goes out with next month's.
Telling them, or not
The buyer chooses. If they give us the recipient's email address, we email the recipient to say the gift is on its way and who it is from. If they leave it blank, we send no email at all and the first envelope is the surprise.
The buyer can write a note to go in with the first mailing. The creator puts it in the envelope.
The recipient's name goes on the envelope. The buyer's name goes on the receipt and on the card statement, so nothing about the payment lands in the recipient's post.
Changing the address
The buyer changes it, at https://goodpostco.com/account, the same way anyone changes an address, and the same rule applies: a change counts straight away for any mail that has not been posted yet. After the club's cutoff day this month's envelope may already be addressed, so the next month's is the first one we can promise. The account page says which, in plain words, the moment the change is saved.
If the recipient has moved and the buyer does not know, the recipient can email support@goodpostco.com and we will ask the buyer to confirm the change. We will not redirect somebody's mail on the word of somebody who is not our customer, and we are not going to apologise for that one.
Stopping a gift
The buyer can cancel at any time, in their account at https://goodpostco.com/account, with one click, or by emailing support@goodpostco.com. A gift is paid up front, so cancelling partway through means we refund the months that have not been mailed: each one is an equal share of what was paid, tax included, and the refund goes back to the buyer's card straight away (and always within 7 working days). The month already being printed is not refunded, and it still goes out. If the buyer gave us the recipient's email address, we let the recipient know the gift has stopped, and nothing about the money.
The recipient can ask us to stop the mail, at any time, by emailing support@goodpostco.com. Nobody has to receive post they do not want. We will stop it, tell the buyer we have stopped it, and refund the buyer for the months that have not been mailed.
If the club stops mailing or we close it, we refund the buyer for everything paid for and not sent.
Tax
Sales tax, where it applies, is worked out from the address the mail goes to — the recipient's address — and charged to the buyer with the rest of the payment. It is shown at checkout and on the receipt.
Gifts for children
A gift for a child is bought and run by an adult. The adult is our customer, the adult's email address is on the account, and the only thing we hold about the child is the name and address to put on an envelope. The child gets no account, no email from us and no way to buy anything.
Nobody under 13 may be signed up as a subscriber in their own right. If you are buying for a child, you are the subscriber and they are the person the envelope is addressed to.
What the recipient can expect
The mail the club describes, for the number of months bought, addressed to the name the buyer gave us.
If something does not arrive, either the buyer or the recipient can tell us at support@goodpostco.com, and the club will send a replacement — at least one per mailing. A refund, if one is due, still goes to the buyer.
If we disagree
Same as everything else: email us first, at support@goodpostco.com. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Oklahoma, and anything that has to go further goes to the state or federal courts sitting in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.
